Direct Appliance Rentals was founded in 2008, with the vision to enable customers who would otherwise have difficulties accessing consumer finance to take advantage of new technologies and enjoy brand new household goods by leasing these items from DAR.

Direct Appliance Rentals is committed to helping low-income customers with or without a job. We want to help those who don’t have the necessary funds to buy essential new household products outright.
We also aim to continually support and strengthen the position of women in small business around Australia.

What we do
Enough about us. How can we actually help you? I’m sure many of us have been in a situation where we wish we had a little more money to tide us over. Things happen that just aren’t planned or budgeted for.
Some people in this situation turn to what are known as “payday lenders”. These are businesses that usually loan small amounts of money over a short period of time. Usually with high fees and interest rates attached. It is possible, when some of the fees and penalties are taken into account, that interest rates can sometimes top 600%.
So what do you do if your children need a laptop for school work or your fridge stops working?
We have developed a 12 month RentPlus® program to show our commitment to helping low-income customers and families around Australia. We do this by using Centrepay or EziDebit. These customers don’t have the necessary funds to buy a new essential product outright. So rather than borrowing money or buying dodgy 2nd hand products that only last 3 months, we will work together to help supply a brand new item just for you.
While our clients will not own the product at the end of the lease, they can own it by buying it from us. A letter of offer will be sent to clients no later than 30 days from the end of the agreement. This is where we can negotiate what will happen with the product. Clients may be able to make us an offer to purchase the product from as little as $1.
All of our products come with full manufacturers’ warranty and are brand new.
